Shanghai Putuo Mixed-use Development's landscape scenery is shaped by the memory of the river. Located in Shanghai’s Putuo District, the mixed-use development brings together retail, creative offices and art spaces near the Suzhou River.

Inspired by the river’s slow, meandering character, the landscape replaces the site’s original linear circulation with a more fluid pedestrian journey. Visitors move through a series of distinct garden settings, from a quiet garden framed by dense planting, to a seasonal garden reflecting Shanghai’s four seasons, and finally to a lively event plaza centred around a cascading water feature and leaping fish sculpture. Active and contemplative spaces are interwoven to create changing atmospheres of movement, pause and social interaction. Above, rooftop gardens, terraces and a connecting sky bridge extend this landscape vertically, carrying the river-inspired experience beyond the ground plane and into the upper levels of the development.
