Holland Plain Masterplan

Situated in Singapore's central-west, Holland Plain is a 30-hectare residential district designed around a "Blue-Green Network Strategy" by integrating a continuous system of interconnected water and green infrastructure across the entire site. A river is naturalized, native forests are restored, and a series of blue-green networks are woven through the neighborhood to manage the water cycle while bringing nature back into daily life.

The site is shaped by a rich heritage, expressed through its historic railway station and biodiversity-rich forests. Rather than building over these existing qualities, the design builds with them. By integrating ABC Waters and Water-Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) strategies, Holland Plain bridges the gap between urban infrastructure and the natural environment.

The result is more than just a residential district, it is a working model for sustainable, water-sensitive urban living. It demonstrates how thoughtful design can reconnect people with nature, transforming Singapore's vision of a "City in a Garden" into a place that people can genuinely live within and experience everyday.
