Guangzhou GT Land Plaza Summer Mall and Autumn Mall are separated by an extensive linear central park which has been a green oasis in the city centre. The project was enhanced to not only increase the area for commercial uses, it was done to enhance the quality of those spaces with a dramatic increase in vertical green planting intervention. This objective is to create these green spaces to allow the central park to connect to the client's property on both sides and to bring their green park into the building itself.
This redevelopment project explores connections between the malls and the central park, bringing the parklike setting into the malls in addition to enhancing the visual and physical connection between the two malls. Our design language involves dynamic terracing, a park-like setting and seamlessly integrating landscape with the architecture, as a visual and physical connection between the two malls.
